"Edson’s vivid portrayal of the urban area, as well as the working class and underclass, creates a vision of Saint John that highlights the discrepancy between the pre-modern idyllic notion of life in Atlantic Canada and the more complicated reality of the region."

JAWS by Peter Benchley

The best thing about the holidays is that you get some time to read a few books. I just finished Jaws for the second time, and it's gotta be one of the best books out there. Yeah sure, it isn't a literary masterpiece (whatever that's supposed to mean) but you can't argue against it as a storytelling masterpiece. For me, it's one of those books I'll end up reading every few years because it gets better every time I read it.
